take 1: I let the screen recorder record microphone. (why that's the default option, or even an option at all, I can't imagine)
take 2: i'm pretty sure I said record device audio?
take 3 (next day): i fuckin said record device audio! screen recording is silent.
take 4 tomorrow, I guess?
take 4: i made absolutely 100% sure to record device audio. no audio recorded. as ever, everything on a phone is useless.
fuck it, we simulate.
stuff is in http://alloces.arg.rip/nextcloud/apps/files/files/26201373?dir=/project%20beefhaving/a%20roll/2025-05-13
The .MOVs are a trip from my house, through exit 24, and then back. That exit is what we want.
screen-20250513-175056.mp4
is a simulation of osmand's navigation... for now with no sound.not much consolation, but I have captured video of my phone filtering out the exact sound I told it to record. added to a subdirectory within the linked above.
alright my phone is working against me, as ever.
@keeno grab the .mov's from the go pro pointed at the phone screen. You use some kind of STT for the subtitles, right? throw the secondhand GPS instructions into that, then I can regenerate the audio instructions. and those mov's will point out where to put the audio.
the specific point we need to show off is osmand saying "keep left on exit" which is a right exit, that it wants us not to take
(from a previous attempt to get footage)
if there's anything you can do to make it clear to the viewer, go for it. maybe on screen text for what GPS is saying, and then arrows/labels pointing to how it's backward? if needed.
that isn't the pictured spot.
back to the old plan, re use from What Apple Hath Wrought
